If you haven’t attended a workshop with Amy McDaniel… get on it. We were honored to host a newborn posing workshop with Amy this passed weekend. It was amazing. Among the many lessons we took away was one that is sticking in our minds. We have mostly shot newborns in natural light. Not anymore!! We have a 1000 square foot camera room that was not being utilized for newborns. Why? We thought that the natural light up front gave us the softer shot we were looking for. NOT ANYMORE. If you are a professional photographer, I have 2 bits of advice for you. 1-Try photographing (indoor) newborns in a controlled lighting environment (you’ll love it). You will be surprised how amazing the shots turn out if done right. and 2-Attend a workshop with Amy McDaniel. She is an amazing person, photographer and friend.
