Last week I got a rude awakening. My business partner, best friend and other half was in the hospital. Before you freak out… Sarah is doing just fine. We tell people all of the time that Sarah and I are two parts of the same person at Thomas & Thomas. Last week, I realized just how true that statement is. I took all of Sarah’s appointments on top of my own- 35 in total as I assured Sarah we were doing just fine. In all reality… I was losing my mind. We survived by moving a couple appointments around. Let me say that our clients are the best- I can’t tell you how many new amazing people I’ve become close with since owning this studio. Everyone understood, things still got out in time and we made it through. BUT- last week was a major stinker. Did I mention my husband was out of town for 2 weeks for work? OY! Luckily my kids were fabulously behaved. It’s like my 3 year old Lily thought, “It’s probably a bad week to throw tantrums.”
TWO PARTS of the SAME PERSON. We each can fill in for the other when it comes to the studio, but do we like to? NO. I would never want to run this business without her and she feels the same. I get to work everyday with my best friend (OF 30 YEARS!).
Not a lot of photographers can say that. With 400 or so seniors per year and countless newborn, family and publicity photos, it just wouldn’t work with one. I LOVE YOU SARAH- you complete me ;).
