Wedding on a Lyman | Shannon and Adam
Sarah and I met Shannon this Spring and instantly became friends when Stash Style outfitted our models. Shannon is such a bright and shiny soul, it would be literally impossible not to love her. So, when she asked us to photograph her wedding, at the Edgewater yacht club, on a Lyman… we could not refuse. AND, if you know anything about Sarah and I, you know that we take VERY few weddings. This wedding fit all of our criteria. AWESOME LOCATION…check! CHILL BRIDE…double check!! She even threw in a couple of mojitos and a boat ride, which aren’t a requirement, but definitely help. This might have been my most favorite wedding ever (outside of my own) of course. It was simply beautiful. Shannon and Adam (who we also love to pieces by the way) were decorating the boat when we got there. It was so elegantly understated with flowers. It couldn’t have been more perfect. Sarah and I sat down with both sets of parents to grab a drink while the bride and groom changed. We waited on the docks for the couple to approach as the bride’s step Dad added a few changes to his notes. He had been ordained to marry Shannon and Adam which was even more beautiful. As they walked down the dock, Shannon’s vintage dress looked like it was made especially for her… but before she was born. Adam casually removed his shoes as Shannon giggled behind her shades. The ceremony was so personable. It was made just for the two of them. They read from a children’s book that held special meaning between the two of them and I definitely shed a few tears behind the camera when all was said and done. We finished off with a champagne toast and a ride around Cleveland with the happy couple. It was vintage style meets vintage romance. If I could rewrite the Great Gatsby into a non-tragedy, I imagine Jay Gatsby and Daisy Buchanan could end up together in a similar fashion, riding off into the sunset.
