Fashion Videographer | Boho Beach Shoot
I’ll start at the beginning. We have this model team. It’s not just any old model team. These are the most genuine, caring and unbelievably beautiful (inside and out) group of teenagers I’ve ever met. Our models participate in volunteer work to be part of our team. Not only are they ready to participate in all things philanthropy, but they all have so many ideas of charities we can work with and people we can help. They couldn’t wait to get started. The day of the session, I saw a couple of them really come out of their shell, some serious guitar lessons, *new friendships being made* and some killer dance moves. The feel of this video is just me filming what was happening as it happened. Had it been slightly warmer and less windy, it would have been the ideal beach party. Luckily Stash does blankets. Back to the shoot with Stash Style. As I walked into the Stash warehouse to go through the selections before the shoot, I was blown away. It’s like boho fashion mecca in there. And, for anyone (like me) who is head over heels for flannel, you might just drool all over their floor like I did. There are several thousand square feet filled with hand dyed flannel, repurposed vintage wear, jackets, jeans, t-shirts, blankets, pillow covers, accessories… I could go on and on and on. They have a couch made entirely from jeans! Their styles are in stores nationwide, but each piece is unique. I’m literally ready to replace my entire closet. Shannon of Stash is just about the nicest person you’ll ever meet, so it wasn’t so bad when I went a little flannel fan girl in there when we were picking out styles for the shoot.
Of course, we entrusted our hair and makeup to theĀ Willow Room Salon. They have been doing the hair and makeup for our VIP sessions for a while now and so many of our clients already know and love Casey, Amanda and the gals of the Willow Room. They had their work cut out for them with this one. The wind by the water was intense. The look we previously had talked about would have turned our girls into Cousin It. Casey, Amanda and Jen blew it out of the water with the greatest braids I’ve ever seen. I loved it. They incorporated a few braided ropes from Stash Style. It’s like they are always in my head, only I have no idea what I want… but they always do.
The shoot went great and I still have about 2000 photos to start going through tomorrow. I stayed up until 2am last night to finish this because I JUST. COULD. NOT. STOP. MYSELF. It’s a beautiful thing when a career and a passion come together.
